Xiaomi has revealed its CC9 Pro smartphone that features one of the highest resolution cameras in the modern generation of smartphones. You will be surprised to know that the CC9 Pro with its wide-angle camera has more resolution than Fujifilm’s 102-megapixel GFX 100, which has a sensor about 15 times larger.

Above all, CC9 Pro has four separate rear cameras: a 5-megapixel 5x telephoto, 12-megapixel 2x telephoto, 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera with big 1.75um pixels.

As we discussed earlier, Samsung developed the 108-megapixel ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor in association with Xiaomi. As a 1/1.33-inch type sensor, it’s much large – about three-quarters the size of the 1-inch sensor on Sony’s RX100 VII, or slightly smaller than the sensor used on Nokia’s model, PureView 808 smartphone camera.

The 5-megapixel 5x camera holds hybrid zoom levels from 10x to 50x, providing this smartphone a much powerful zoom range. Though, there is an extra choice. You could simply capture a 108-megapixel photo and simply crop in to take the edge of the exceptional feature taken by this sensor.

With that high resolution, though, it has a small .8 pixel pitch, so it won’t work so great in dim light. By default, it will work as a 27-megapixel camera as Samsung’s Tetracell tech combines four pixels. If you have sufficient light, you can shoot with all 108 million pixels to “capture billboard-level photographs up to 4.24 meters high,” Xiaomi claimed.

The ultra-wide-angle 20-megapixel camera has a 117-degree field of view, and there’s a front 32-megapixel camera. To ensure flawless snaps, the CC9 Pro has a 4-axis optical image stabilizer and uses Xiaomi’s ShootSteady tech to smooth out 4K video. It has slow motion speeds up to 960 fps and even has a Vlog video mode to maximize effective range.

Just like Huawei P30 Pro and the Pixel 4, the smartphone also carries Xiaomi’s all-new Night Mode 2.0, which combines multiple shots to reduce noise. It can also take RAW pictures in dim light using multi-frame noise reduction. On the other hand, you can enjoy the edge of one of the two LED lights on the rear. There’s torchlight for a general brightness addition, and there’s also a smooth light for portrait shots.

Apart from its high-resolution camera, Xiomi has a lot to brag about. The CC9 Pro’s standout spec is the massive 5,260 mAh battery that should provide remarkable durability. Other specifications include an edge-to-edge 6.47-inch curved FHD+ AMOLED display and Snapdragon 730G mobile platform.

Mi CC9 Pro Price

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro will be available for sale in China for 2,799 yuan or around $400 (6GB RAM with 128GB storage) and 3,099 yuan or $440 (8GB RAM). There’s also the more costly CC9 Pro Premium Edition going for 3,499 yuan or $500, which comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, along with an 8P lens system for the 108MP camera. This probably captures better photos than the 7P system on the common version.
